Charly Boy Sets The Record Straight On Being Gay (Video)
Charly Boy, the unconventional singer also known as Charles Oputa, has cleared up the debate about his sexuality once and for all.
He said although he could be gay he isn’t.
The singer revealed this information while discussing the controversy, during an interview with reality star Uriel Oputa.
He listed his guiding principles as consistency, tenacity, and audacity, and explained that sharing his challenges is what makes people see him as a father figure.
He also mentioned he doesn’t believe in love and doesn’t believe in religiousity and has nothing with spirituality.
Charly Boy emphasized that if he were gay he would have been championing the fight for gay rights in Nigeria.
He said, “I’ve a feminine side I called Linda. And I remember when I was doing the Charly Boy show, I had this character I always played called Miss Zigizigi. I picked that up when I was in the United States.
“So I’ve my feminine ways and sometimes I can get confusing if you really don’t know who I am. A lot of people have said I am gay.
“I could be but I am not. Because if I was gay I will be carrying my placards going around and fighting for gay rights.”
GWG.ng reports that Charly Boy, however, has a daughter Dewy who is a lesbian.
