Burna Boy Fires Back At Brymo’s Accusations, Asserts Kingship In Music Industry
Afrobeat sensation Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, famously known as Burna Boy, has responded to remarks made by his fellow musician Brymo in a recent interview.
Brymo accused Burna Boy of appropriating his unreleased song, which he claims inspired his own tracks, “City Boy” and “I Told You.”
In a live freestyle, Burna Boy indirectly addressed Brymo’s comments, urging others to work hard to avoid falling behind like Brymo. He also emphasized his own status as a king in the industry, suggesting that detractors will do anything to challenge him.
Responding to Brymo’s refusal to include his name in any tracks, Burna Boy took a jab at the singer’s style, suggesting that Brymo solely relies on singing Yoruba proverbs in his music.
Burna Boy’s exact words were: “At this point, they do and say anything to get at the KING. Werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us when K1 and Saheed Osupa dem still dey carry us trabaye.”
