Nollywood Mourns Junior Pope Odonwodo Death (Video)

The Nigerian entertainment industry is plunged into mourning as news emerged of the untimely passing of Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo. The talented actor reportedly drowned while returning from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat, tragically falling into the Anam River in Anambra State. Their bodies have since been recovered, leaving fans, friends, colleagues, and family in shock and grief.

The devastating incident occurred on April 10th, with reports indicating that Odonwodo had shared a video of himself on a boat earlier, fervently praying for a safe journey.

However, fate took a tragic turn as the journey ended in tragedy, marking a somber day for the Nigerian film industry.

GWG.ng reports that the news of Odonwodo’s passing comes just days after Nollywood lost another promising talent, actress Jumoke Aderounmu, adding to the industry’s profound sense of loss. This tragedy marks the fifth death recorded in Nollywood this year, following the recent passing of veteran actor Amaechi Muonagor on March 24th. Muonagor, who had been battling kidney disease, succumbed despite efforts to save his life, including seeking treatment abroad.
