Aisha Yesufu, a renowned activist and close political ally of Peter Obi, has weighed in on the recent court judgment against popular crossdresser Bobrisky, criticizing the decision as she questions the equivalence between money mutilation and the act of spraying money.

In a post shared on her official X handle, few hours after the court delivered its judgement on Bobrisky, Aisha Yesufu expressed her disapproval of the court’s ruling, highlighting the need for fair and non-selective prosecution.

Aisha’s post quickly sparked a flurry of reactions from social media users, with some echoing her sentiments and condemning what they perceive as selective prosecution. Many questioned the rationale behind sentencing Bobrisky to jail without the option of a fine, especially in light of the nature of the alleged offense. Others, however, countered Aisha’s argument by citing constitutional provisions regarding the mutilation of currency.

The diverse responses underline the ongoing debate surrounding the legal implications of Bobrisky’s actions and the broader issues of morality and justice in society.

Read some netizens reactions to the post by Aisha Yesufu on the Bobrisky saga;

@Purestanley1: If spraying money is now a crime, then kirikiri will be flooded with ur favorite celebrities and rich friends/Uncles.They should prosecute him if he committed any crime that is worth prosecuting for, and put this “mutilation and naira abuse” balderdash to a corner.

@Tonia: Anybody who is supporting efcc is a dilutional person. Is he the first to spray naira?

@CFC_Jogues: Nigeria will never be taken seriously with these kind of nonsense. No wonder even Kenya and other sensible African countries see us as a Joke of a nation with no respect accorded, which is affecting us, the citizens.

@Petehandsome2:They won deal with bobrisky forget naira abuse, but where are the people he called connections? He will lurrn after 6 months

@Uzo_Ude: He was given a soft landing.Don’t tell me you are in support of LGTB group? If Bobrisky is tried for fraud or money laundering, he would have spent more years in prison. If he’s tried for gay law, he would spend 14 years imprisonment and more. This is the safest landing

In related development, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), on Friday, cleared the air on where Bobrisky would be incarcerated.

In a statement, the commission said the convict will be incarcerated in the male section of its custodial facility.

However, Correctional officers have assured that Bobrisky will be adequately protected from potential harm.

“He shouldn’t be afraid of sexual assault from other male inmates because our men can give him protection,” the spokesperson stated, addressing worries about his vulnerability.

Recall that GWG.ng earlier reported that Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court found Bobrisky guilty of Naira abuse, leading to his sentencing on Friday, April 12.

GWG.ng reported that Bobrisky, who had, on different occasions, claimed to be a woman on social media with his nickname , “Mummy of Lagos” identified himself as a male when questioned in court, influencing the decision to place him in a male-designated facility.
