In an incident that has rocked the community of Gubio Local Government Area in Borno State, a woman identified as Aisha Bukar Gambo was allegedly stabbed by her husband’s side chick, Falamata Mai Mele, after she caught them on their matrimonial bed.

Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, confirmed the distressing event, which reportedly occurred during the holy month of Ramadan, heightening the gravity of the situation.

According to Makama’s account, Aisha confronted Falamata in her family house, leading to a heated altercation with members of the suspect’s family. However, Falamata allegedly stabbed Aisha with a screwdriver on the side of her left breast, leaving her severely injured and bleeding profusely.

Expressing dismay over the audacity of the act, Makama highlighted the contrast between the expected response of seeking forgiveness and the violent retaliation witnessed in this case. He emphasized the need for adherence to spiritual values, especially during Ramadan, urging for a peaceful resolution to conflicts.

The incident that led to the wife being stabbed unfolded in a series of events that began with Aisha catching her husband in adulterous acts on multiple occasions with the incident with the side chick being only the latest. Despite attempts to conceal the matter, Aisha’s decision to seek justice ultimately led to the confrontation that resulted in her grievous injury.

Upon reporting the incident to the authorities, the Police Divisional Officer of Gubio confirmed the arrest of the suspects, including Falamata Mai Mele. The swift action of law enforcement resulted in the recovery of weapons and the admission of Aisha Bukar Gambo to the Primary Health Care Center for medical attention.
