Man Pushes Nigerian Mother To Death In Dispute Over Palm Oil Sales

63-year-old Lukman Odejoju has been nabbed by the police after being accused of causing the untimely demise of his mother, Aminat Odejoju, following a bitter dispute over proceeds from their palm oil farm.

GWG.ng reports that the incident happened in Kajola village in Apomu, Isokan Local Government Area of Osun State last weekend.

According to local sources, tensions flared between Lukman Odejoju and his mother when a disagreement erupted over who had the rightful claim to the money earned from their palm oil sales. The arrival of a laborer with the proceeds served as the catalyst for the heated argument.

Aminat staunchly asserted her entitlement to the funds, a stance Lukman vehemently contested. However, the confrontation escalated, culminating in Lukman allegedly pushing his mother in a fit of anger, leading to her fatal injury.

Confirming the incident, SP Yemisi Opalola, spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, disclosed that Lukman Odejoju had been apprehended and confessed to the grievous act, albeit claiming it was not premeditated. Expressing remorse, Lukman cited being overwhelmed by an inexplicable force in the heat of the moment as the catalyst for his actions.
