Dangote Petroleum Refinery Slashes Diesel and Aviation Fuel Prices Again!
In a move that’s set to bring relief to Nigerians, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a further reduction in the prices of diesel and aviation fuel. The new prices are N940 and N980 per litre respectively, down from N1,000 and N1,070 just two weeks ago.
GWG.ng reports that this marks the third major price reduction in less than three weeks, with the company having previously slashed prices from N1,700 to N1,200 and then to N1,000.
The new prices apply to customers buying in bulk, with those purchasing five million litres or more getting the lowest rate of N940 per litre. Those buying one million litres or more will pay N970 per litre.
According to the Head of Communication, Mr Anthony Chiejina, the price reduction is part of the company’s commitment to cushioning the effect of economic hardship in Nigeria. “We’re partnering with MRS Oil and Gas stations to ensure that consumers can buy fuel at affordable prices, no matter where they are in the country,” he said.
The partnership will see consumers able to buy diesel for as low as N1,050 per litre and aviation fuel for N980 per litre at all major airports where MRS operates. The company plans to extend the partnership to other major oil marketers to ensure that retail buyers don’t have to pay exorbitant prices.
The move has been welcomed by industry leaders, with the Director General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Mr Ajayi Kadiri, describing it as an “eloquent demonstration of the capacity of local industries to positively impact the fortunes of the national economy.”
The price reduction is expected to have far-reaching effects on critical sectors like industrial operations, transportation, logistics, and agriculture, contributing to easing the high inflation rate in the country.
President Bola Tinubu has also commended Dangote for the initial price reduction, describing it as an “enterprising feat.”
This latest move by Dangote Petroleum Refinery is a clear demonstration of the company’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian economy and improving the welfare of its citizens.
