Lead British International School Abuja Vows Action After Bullying Video
The leadership of Lead British International School Abuja has issued a statement addressing the recent viral video showing a student, Namtira Bwala, being bullied by her classmates.
The school has condemned the incident and assured the public that they are taking the matter seriously.
According to the statement, the school has initiated a full investigation into the incident, reviewing video footage and interviewing witnesses to understand the scope of the incident and identify the causes.
The school has also reached out to the victim and her family to offer support, including access to counseling services to help them cope with the emotional and psychological impact of the incident.
The school also assured that the perpetrators and their families will also receive counseling and disciplinary measures to address the behavior, which the school has emphasized has no place in society. The school has committed to reviewing and updating its anti-bullying policies and procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The statement read in part: “We are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all our students… We will be working with the perpetrators and their families, offering counseling and disciplinary measures to address the behavior… We have also immediately initiated an investigation, appointing a dedicated team to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter.”
