FG Declares Public Holiday

The federal government has declared Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, as a public holiday to commemorate the annual Workers’ Day celebration.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Tuesday, April 30th.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo reiterated the administration’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, productivity, and inclusivity in the workplace. He emphasized the government’s dedication to prioritizing the safety and well-being of all citizens, aligning with this year’s theme of ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate.

In the statement declaring May 1st public holiday signed by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, the government reaffirmed its resolve to provide a conducive environment for work, where every worker can thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development.
