International Flight Diverted After 70 Passengers Vomit On Board
A Condor airline flight from Mauritius to Frankfurt was hit by a mysterious vomiting bug, leaving 70 of 290 passengers severely ill mid-flight. The incident occurred on Thursday, May 2, when Flight DE2315 was diverted to Frankfurt, where a large team of emergency responders was waiting to assist.
As the aircraft landed at 5:33 pm, it became clear that many passengers were experiencing symptoms like nausea and vomiting. The crew had alerted authorities on the ground about the unfolding emergency, and medical professionals were ready to provide assistance upon arrival.
A spokesperson for Condor confirmed the incident, stating that the crew was trained to handle such situations and took necessary precautions. “The aircraft landed safely in Frankfurt, where medical professionals were available to care for the affected guests,” they said.
While the cause of the sudden illness that caused the vomiting remains unknown, Condor Airline has launched an investigation to determine the root cause and implement measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The food onboard was prepared in Mauritius, but the airline refrained from speculating about individual menus being the cause.
“We are working closely with all responsible partners and authorities to get to the bottom of this,” the spokesperson added. “We will not participate in speculation about the cause until the investigation is complete.”
