NFF accept resignation of Finidi

Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, has announced his coaching staff, selecting two foreigners along with his former international teammate, Daniel Amokachi, as his assistants.

The identities of the two foreign assistants will be disclosed ahead of the Super Eagles’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Bafana Bafana of South Africa and the Squirrels of Benin.

In addition to his appointments, Finidi has opted to retain Olatunji Baruwa as the goalkeeper’s trainer, a position Baruwa previously held under the tenure of the former head coach, Jose Peseiro.

The 53-year-old was officially introduced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday.

Prior to joining the national team, Finidi served as the head coach of Enyimba, one of Nigeria’s top football clubs. He concluded his duties with Enyimba on Sunday to fully dedicate himself to his new role.

During his time with Enyimba, Finidi led the team to clinch the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, marking their 10th championship victory.
