Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has made history as the first African to win the National Union of Professional Footballers Award for the best goalkeeper in the French women’s topflight league.

This prestigious recognition comes as a result of her outstanding performances for Paris FC during the 2023/24 season.

Nnadozie’s stellar play earned her this accolade over a competitive field that included notable goalkeepers such as Olympic Lyon’s Christiane Endler, Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of PSG, FC Fleury’s Chloe N’Gazi, and Kinga Szemik of Stade de Reims.

Her recognition extends beyond this award; she was also named the best goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema women’s league last month.

Particularly notable are Nnadozie’s penalty-saving abilities, which have cemented her reputation as one of the world’s top goalkeepers.

Since her move to France in 2020, the 23-year-old has consistently proven her skills and has become one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

Nnadozie excels as a penalty specialist, leading with the highest number of penalty saves among elite goalkeepers in both the men’s and women’s top European leagues since the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

She has made two penalty saves in the league and five during her club’s impressive run in the Women’s Champions League.
