Simi Slams Nigeria Police Force for Lenient Approach to Child Exploitation Case
Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has expressed outrage over the Nigeria Police Force’s decision to “counsel” the parents of a four-year-old child model, Sarah Suleman, who was exploited in adult content on social media.
Recall that the police had announced the arrest of the father, Musa Suleman, but opted for counseling instead of prosecution. See below;
However, Simi took to social media to condemn the police’s lenient approach, stating, “You want to ‘counsel’ parents that blatantly and repeatedly sexually exploit a baby??? A four-year-old child!!! Wtf is going on? Huh??? Omg.” Her reaction echoes the shock and disbelief of many who believe the parents’ actions warrant more severe consequences.
See her post below;
The police had initially responded to a report of the incident, acknowledging the gravity of the situation and the need to protect the child from moral dangers. However, their decision to prioritize counseling over prosecution has sparked controversy, with many arguing that it sets a dangerous precedent and undermines efforts to combat child exploitation.
As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how the police and other authorities will respond to mounting pressure to take a stronger stance against child exploitation.
