Portable Releases New Song, “Spider-Man,” Following Arrest Over Unpaid Debt

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has dropped a new song, “Spider-Man,” less than 24 hours after his arrest by the Lagos State Police Command. The singer was taken into custody for failing to pay the outstanding balance of N14 million for a G-Wagon he purchased from a car dealer in the state.

According to reports, Portable had paid N13 million for the N27 million vehicle, however, claiming it was faulty he refused to settle the remaining debt. The car dealer filed a complaint with the police, leading to Portable’s arrest.

In a post on his Instagram page, Portable shared a message of faith, stating, “God is bigger than everything… Say Amen if you believe… God is over everything.”

Now, in his latest song, “Spider-Man,” Portable gives a detailed account of his arrest and experience with the law. Social media users are having a field day with the new release, as expected.

GWG.ng reports that this is not Portable’s first brush with the law. In April 2023, he was arrested by the Ogun State police command for refusing to honor a police invitation. He was later released on bail after three days in detention.

Following his release, Portable surprisingly expressed love for the Nigerian police, calling himself a “Federal Government liability” and urging his fans to show respect and love to the police, rather than causing problems.
