Distinction Student Commits Su!cide After Repeated Failures From Male Lecturer (Video)

A devastating incident has shaken the Ebonyi State University community, as a final-year student, Favour Ugwuka, took her own life on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. The English Department student was found dead behind her hostel at the university’s Ishieke Campus in Abakaliki, with a toxic substance believed to be Sniper discovered nearby.

A leaked voice note revealed Favour’s distressing story, claiming that despite completing all her classes with distinction, she was repeatedly failed in a particular course by a lecturer who had vowed she would never pass. The lecturer, (names withheld) was accused of making Favour’s academic journey unbearable.

In a heart-wrenching video circulating online, Favour’s mother is seen lamenting and holding the lecturer responsible for her daughter’s tragic fate. “Dr. E–i said he is the best, that nobody can teach like him. He should come and carry my daughter who has committed suicide,” she sorrowfully exclaimed.

The university community is in mourning, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Favour Ugwuka is urgently needed.
