Ngelale vs Onanuga

A confusion has emerged within the presidency regarding President Bola Tinubu’s scheduled address to the National Assembly.

Recall that earlier on Tuesday, Bayo Onanuga who is the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, announced via his X handle that President Tinubu would address a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, as part of the 25th anniversary of Nigeria’s democratic journey.

The National Assembly Clerk, Sani Magaji, also confirmed the report.

Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, refuted these claims, in a statement titled, “In commemoration of May 29 and the first Anniversary of the President Tinubu Administration.”

He stated that the information was “false and unauthorized”. He said the Office of the President was not involved in planning the event.

The statement read, “In furtherance of his commitment to delivering good governance, President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated strategic projects across the country. President Tinubu’s administration will inaugurate more transformative projects for the benefit of all Nigerians.
