Nigerian Army Arrests Corporal Over Alleged Theft Of Ammunition (Video)
The Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, has apprehended Corporal Francis Bako, a soldier, for allegedly stealing a large quantity of ammunition in Maiduguri, Borno State.
According to intelligence sources, Corporal Bako was arrested by military intelligence at the Kano Motor Park in Maiduguri, following a tip-off. The sources revealed that the soldier, who hails from Mallam Fatori, was en route to Kaduna when he was intercepted and found in possession of 602 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
GWG.ng reports that the arrest is a significant breakthrough in the efforts to curb the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in the region.
