President Bola Tinubu has authorized six months of free rides on the Abuja Rail Mass Transit for the residents of Nigeria’s capital.

This announcement was made on Wednesday during the inauguration of the newly rehabilitated Abuja metro rail in Abuja.

Previously, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike had announced that there would be free train rides for a duration of two months.

Tinubu’s declaration extends this period significantly, providing an additional benefit to the residents.

“Our dear landlord and his team, I heard you saying two months free ride. I appeal to you to make it till the end of the year. Since today you are not going to charge me, that will give the people hope and reasons to celebrate,” Tinubu said.
