The Emperor$BEYOND said, “I don’t see how soothing the Colonial Anthem will be to anyone. A hungry man is an angry man. Now tell me, how soothing can that be to him?

“I feel the brezzident lacks a clear direction and super priorities of what is best for Nigeria and Nigerians.”

@IamEriOluwa said, “You can say that again. I’m trying to get over it, but it’s really painful. It brings a lot of things to mind.

“This simple error reveals the mediocrity we are dealing with in the National Assembly. Now, it makes sense that the SUV isn’t really about the quality; it’s because they don’t know any better.

“How on earth do you bring back an anthem written for you by a colonialist when the global economy is thriving on originality?

“I mean! My Yoruba elders would say “Teni n teni, t’akisa ni ti atan” Translation: What’s yours is yours, rags belong to the dumpster.”

@DolapoDave, Aunty Kate, I think we weren’t patriotic enough when we all sat on the cold hard asphalt in complete darkness waving our mini flags and chanting the national anthem until our lungs neared rupture as the very men sworn to protect us shot at us.

@osagie_adams said, “Nigerians are patriotic, but our politicians are not. We should be planning for the next election, bcos it’s obvious this government has no bearing.”

@EKing76694 said, “I laugh, after singing old unity anthem, federal character will be physically replaced with nepotism, tribalism and religion…

“Today Yoruba tribe is occupying 90% of federal appointments, was it like that when they wrote that anthem? Hypocrites.”
