The Chairman of Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Mr James Thomas, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s one year in office, calling for patience and support from Nigerians.

Thomas made the call while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview on Thursday in Karu.

The Chairman, who encouraged citizens to be patient, added that the president would fulfil all the promises he made to Nigerians one year ago.

“Tinubu’s one year in office may not have been 100 per cent as anticipated by many Nigerians, but the president has done well so far.

“Yes, things are hard, even though the President is putting in so much efforts, he needs to do more to gain back the trust and support of Nigerians to fix the country,” he said.

Thomas said Tinubu had strategically put some measures in place to tackle the existing hardship.

“First of all, I will give credit to this present government for the past one year. It has over time set plans on ground to cushion the challenges of food and hunger.

“The Federal Government through the State Government has set programmes to reduce hardship, through the distribution of palliatives to different communities and at different times.

“The government has also ensured that small scale businesses had access to financial palliatives like grants and trainings on skill acquisitions for youths and persons with disabilities.

“Also farmers were not left out as fertilisers and tractors were provided for the purpose of mechanisation and improved farming across the country,” the Karu LG boss, James Thomas said.

On the area of security, Thomas said the President had been empowering the security agencies for effective results.

He, therefore, encouraged citizens not give up, saying the President would fulfil his promises to Nigerians as soon as possible.
