Commissioner Finds Pupils Washing Cassava For Teacher During Learning Hours

In a shocking discovery, the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah, found pupils at Community Primary School 1 & 2 Angalabiri in Sagbama LGA washing freshly harvested cassava in the school premises during learning hours. The Commissioner, who was on a routine inspection visit, was dismayed to learn that the pupils had not received any lessons that day and were instead tasked by their teachers to harvest cassava for them.

When questioned, the teachers admitted to the Commissioner that the pupils were working for them and pleaded for forgiveness. Dr. Emelah expressed his strong disapproval of the situation and summoned the absent Head Teacher and all other teachers in the school to report to his office in Yenagoa for disciplinary action.
