Bayo Onanuga Sparks Outrage With Comments On NLC Strike

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has come under fire for his recent comments on the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

In a post on his official social media handle, Onanuga blamed the Labour Party for the strike, accusing them of playing politics and harming the Nigerian people.

According to Onanuga, the strike has prevented many sick Nigerians from accessing medical care at government hospitals, including those with critical medical conditions.

He alleged that many affiliates of the NLC and Trade Union Congress (TUC) are members and supporters of the Labour Party, and therefore bear grudges against the Tinubu administration.

However, Nigerians have taken to the comment section to criticize Onanuga’s statement, accusing him of politicizing the issue and failing to address the genuine concerns of the workers. Many have pointed out that the strike is a result of the government’s failure to meet the demands of the workers, including the payment of a living wage and improved working conditions.
