The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has stated that it is still on strike until it meets with its affiliate organizations, in a meeting scheduled for June 4.

The NLC stated this in a tweet via its official X handle at 5:02 AM on Tuesday.

The tweet read, “Until we hear from Our Organs at our Meeting scheduled for today 4th June, We are still on Strike.”

This statement on the continuation of the strike came after the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) met with President Bola Tinubu in a 5-hour-marathon meeting on Monday evening.

Gwg.ng earlier reported that the organized Labour was set to call off the nationwide strike after they got a commitment from President Bola Tinubu to raise the National Minimum Wage above the N60,000 offered by the Federal Government.

Although a figure was not reached, the negotiating team was scheduled to meet round the clock for the next seven days to reach an agreement.
