Wike: Rage Over ‘Failure’ Of Buhari’s FCT Minister

Published

Nigerians over the weekend flooded social media with questions on the activities of the immediate past minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Musa Bello following what many claim as the impressive performance of the incumbent minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike.

The debate came against the background of the commissioning of several projects by the Wike administration with many raising questions as to what Musa Bello did as the longest-serving minister of the FCT in Nigeria under the Buhari administration.

GWG.ng reports that the debate was triggered after an X user hyped the minister after the commissioning of a road in the Jahi/Katampe area of the federal capital.

He siad:

The assertions of inefficiency, however, did not sit well with others with some alleging that many of the projects being commissioned by Wike were initiated by the former FCT minister, Musa Bello.

While some bought the argument there were some who were insistent that the FCT never had a minister in the last eight years.

GWG.ng gathered some of the reactions.

Big Papi. Baba Voss. 🚀 pocket space 🚀$AGO @asherslim

Why are you lying??? This road was already under construction intensely before Buhari left office. Why you just dey lie. I lived here last year. Abeggi, dye that Wike hype. Ah!!! Una go just dey lie for people wey no too know.

A. Alkali @Abubaka35742567

I am not a fan of Musa Bello. But sir this project was awarded about two years ago. Aji tsoron Allah.

Gimba Kakanda @gimbakakanda

Saying Aji tsoron Allah while lying shamelessly is quite funny. At least, use your google search bar to know when the contract was awarded.

NAIJA-KAGE @this_is_toks

Is this the same road that leads to AEA, Abuja enterprise Agency??, omo it has come w long way, this road was rubbish as at 2022

The former minister needs to be prosecuted, what has he been doing with his allocations for the past 8 years

Eng.Taiwo🦁🇺🇸🇳🇬 @TayeAgbaje

Well, he’s trying to impress us as PDP members appointed by the APC….

Joyce @Joyceomon25

So all other ministers were just collecting for their pockets before?😂😂😂

Hemdy🟧⛓️ @dayhor_

What happened to security? Must everything be road?

Sleek Sullivan @aniekpeno_idip

Only Abuja residents know what he is doing, the people trolling him are some of his steps brothers fighting for political supremacy in Rivers.

Philtech®️ @philipokoduwa

@GovWike has fulfilled part of his  duty as the honorable Minister of FCT, so kudos to him. However, you have failed miserably as a citizen. That was a zebra crossing with someone already on it, yet you continued at full speed. If Naija is to progress, you must also do your part.

Auwalun Baba Dada @Andodo88

This is my regular way (road) cause I live close to Living Faith Church. I don’t know who started it but WIKE for me should take 80% credit for finishing it. We saw hell before coming of WIKE.

Hon. Precious Onyeche @honpreciousO

At this age and time Nigerians are still celebrating roads. Roads that do not even meet international standards. Other countries are advancing in technology, sciences, medicine, research, invention etc. I’m ashamed of how we think in this country.

Eustace Nnawuihe © @E_ustace

The previous minister should be ashamed of himself no legacy project to tie to his name. Only welcome and fair well when the president is leaving or coming back to Nigeria

Dr Bello Anka @belloinuwa

So what exactly was the former minister doing?! What happened to all the monies allocated to the FCT in the last 8 years?!

Auwal @SkinnyBoi001_

It used to be frustrating following this road before and during the construction phase. Now it’s remaining the one from jahi junction to where they’re constructing the bridge that’ll lead to jabi.

Jolly_b @Arinze_NS

Na road we go chop ? How many people did the road employed? Road project have been a tool of theft
