Peter Obi Calls For Compassion, Empathy After Tinubu’s Fall
By Gideon Ayeni
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to show compassion and empathy after the fall by President Bola Tinubu during the Democracy Day event at Eagle Square in Abuja.
In a series of posts on his official X handle, Obi described the incident as “unfortunate” and wished the President well, emphasizing that gloating about the fall achieves nothing. He reminded Nigerians that such an accident could happen to anyone and encouraged them to focus on the issues that will move the country forward.
See his post below;
Obi acknowledged that he and Tinubu may have differing opinions on how to move Nigeria forward, but stressed that the incident calls for empathy and compassion. He wrote, “We are all human beings, and…we must remember our common human frailty. Let us stay focused on the issues that will lead to a new Nigeria.”
As Nigerians continue to discuss the incident, Obi’s words encourage us to stay focused on the issues that matter and work towards a brighter future for our great nation.
