The presidency has explained the fall suffered by President Bola Tinubu inside a parade van as he was about to go round the Eagles Square at the Democracy Day celebration on Wednesday.

GWG.ng reports that as the president who looked fit as he approached the open carriage vehicle missed his step as he climbed and fell inside the vehicle.

He was quickly rushed up by his Aide-de-Camp and lifted up. He immediately took his position with apparent no other injuries and proceeded with the patrol.

In a quick move to reassure an anxious nation that the fall at the Eagles Square did not affect Tinubu, Presidential aide on social media, Dada Olusegun went on X, formerly Twitter to address the development.

In a post on his handle not long after the incident, Olusegun Dada said:

Mr President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues

GWG.ng reports that the presidential aide perhaps in order not to further raise the anxiety of Nigerians did not use the video of the fall to pass his message.

However, the video of the fall is, however, trending on the social media with several Nigerians expressing their views on the development.

Some have also brought the video of President Joe Biden missing his steps while boarding Air Force One to illustrate the fact that the fall by Tinubu inside Eagles Square was nothing unusual. Others who are more critical of the president were, however, making issues out of the fall.
