Police Detain Rivers State Monarch
Detectives from the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have taken into custody His Royal Highness, Eze Cyprian Amadi-Worenwu, known as the Eze Risi Ohia-Emeri Abali of Rebisi, on suspicion of making threats against retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli and his family members.
The arrest stems from allegations that Eze Amadi-Worenwu threatened retired Justice Enebeli’s life following a court ruling on March 28, 2023, concerning a traditional chieftaincy matter.
According to reports, after the judgment went against him, Eze Amadi-Worenwu allegedly opted to threaten the retired judge, his children, and his associates rather than pursuing legal avenues such as appealing the verdict.
Retired Justice Enebeli formally lodged a complaint with the Commissioner of Police, detailing the threats purportedly made by Eze Amadi-Worenwu.
In his petition, the retired judge appealed to law enforcement to intervene promptly to prevent any harm resulting from these alleged threats.
Despite initially evading police summons, the accused was eventually apprehended by law enforcement officers and is currently detained pending further investigation into the matter.
GWG.ng reports that Eze Amadi-Worenwu is currently detained at the State CID, undergoing investigation, and may face court arraignment.
