Disgust As Netherlands Manager Ronald Koeman Caught Picking His Nose And Eating It During Euro 2024
By Benjamin Abioye
Football fans were left in disbelief after Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman was caught picking his nose and eating it during the Euro 2024 win over Poland.
Holland came from behind to beat Poland in their Euros opener on Sunday thanks to goals from Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and former Manchester United star Wout Weghorst.
It was an important win for the Netherlands and Koeman who take on one of the tournament favourites France in their next game.
But the former Southampton, Everton and Barcelona boss also made headlines for the wrong reason.
In a stomach churning moment, TV cameras picked up Koeman picking his nose in the dugout before putting his finger in his mouth and smiling.
To make matters worse, Koeman later on enthusiastically shook hands with players and the officials.
The moment was broadcast live on Norwegian TV channel NRK TV, with one of their commentators audibly disgusted with what he’d just witnessed.
The clip went viral online, leaving people on Twitter in utter disbelief, with @The_Forty_Four posting: ‘Ronald Koeman that is vile mate.’
@nocontextfm1 added: ‘Ronald Koeman you disgusting, disgraceful man,’ while Men in Blazers wrote: ‘The Dutch team is not the only thing Ronald Koeman picks.’
‘I have fond memories of many former Everton managers but Koeman and Rafa Benitez are the two I cannot stand,’ Lea said.
‘Benny Blanco joked: ‘Koeman nose Wout he’s doing. Weghorst’s career is snot over. Pick that out.’
‘Koeman trying his best to one-up Joachim Low’s finger sniffing antics,’ @FPLOlympian noted, making reference to the former Germany manager’s infamous antics.
The 2014 World Cup winner was caught at multiple tournaments scratching his genitals and other nether regions before then sniffing his hand.
Fans will be hoping Koeman is on better behaviour when the Netherlands take on France in Leipzig on Friday.
