Rivers: Aisha Yesufu Sparks Controversy On How Wike Has Become Tinubu’s Puppet

Following the political turmoil in Rivers State, Nigerian activist Aisha Yesufu asserted that current governor Siminalayi Fubara is more dependable than his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

GWG.ng reported that the clash between Fubara and Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has plunged the state into chaos.

According to reports, some Local Government Chairmen, whose tenures expired Monday, faced attacks from youths when they tried to access their offices on Tuesday. There were also incidents of gunfire in Port Harcourt, allegedly involving Rivers State Police command.

The chairmen aligned with Wike argued that the state House of Assembly had extended their terms by six months.

 In response to the crisis, Aisha criticized the FCT Minister on her X handle for his alleged role in exacerbating the situation.

Aisha suggested that President Bola Tinubu would prefer dealing with Fubara over Wike, emphasizing that the Minister lacks relevance in Rivers State’s governance structure.

She wrote, “Wike thought he was smart and decided to dine with the devil not knowing he was on the menu.

“A powerless Wike is a great asset to Tinubu and Tinubu will ensure every power that Wike has is stripped so he becomes a proper errand boy that can be controlled completely.

“Without the structure of Rivers State Wike is a haggard old politician and I bet you Tinubu will rather have a deal with Fubara than Wike.”
