Court Extends Injunction Against Suspension Of Orbih From PDP

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has extended an exparte injunction restraining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from suspending Chief Dan Orbih, the national vice chairman, South-South of the party.

GWG.ng reports that the extension of the exparte order was granted following a convergence by the different counsel.

Orbih, a former Chairman of the PDP in Edo State, is currently member of the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and its Assistant National Chairman (South-south zone).

Granting the extension of the exparte injunction, in a suit NO: FHC/ABJ/CS601/2024 the judge, Hon. Justice Peter O. Lifu (JP), said: “In the circumstances of this court, coupled with the provisions of Order 26, rule 10 of the rules of this court and the Supreme Court decision in case of Titilayo Plastic vs Fagbola, the order made exparte on 10/5/24 is herein extended pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

“By consent of counsel and at the instance of the 1st defendant, the motion on notice is herein adjourned to the 17th of July, 2024 for hearing”.

The defendants in the in the injunction suit are Paulinus Ibode, Peoples Democratic Party, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), while the plaintiff is Chief Dan Orbih.
