Fans of the Super Eagles and Super Falcons are in for an exciting period as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced new dates for the CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the CAF TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournaments.

Nigerian football enthusiasts are eager to see the Eagles and Falcons, the pride of the nation, compete for continental supremacy as both tournaments are set to take place in Morocco.

The CAF TotalEnergies AFCON Morocco 2025 will commence on Sunday, December 21, 2025, with the final match scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026.

This highly anticipated event is set to feature top-tier African football talent, and the Super Eagles, captained by the inspirational Ahmed Musa, are determined to reclaim the prestigious trophy.

Adding to the excitement, the CAF TotalEnergies WAFCON 2024 will also be hosted in North Africa. The tournament will begin on Saturday, July 5, 2025, with the final set for Saturday, July 26, 2025.

The Super Falcons are eager to regain the title they lost to the current WAFCON champions, South Africa, and reinforce their dominance in African women’s football.

CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, expressed his confidence in the success of both tournaments, stating;

“I am confident that the CAF TotalEnergies AFCON Morocco 2025 will be extremely successful and will be the best AFCON in the history of this competition.”

“I am also impressed by the enormous growth of Women’s Football in Africa and I am expecting the CAF TotalEnergies WAFCON Morocco 2024 to be immensely successful,” he added.

The announcement of the tournament dates has dispelled any lingering doubts about their occurrence, sparking renewed excitement and anticipation among Nigerian football fans. Supporters are eagerly looking forward to watching their beloved national teams vie for continental glory.
