Farooq Oreagba, the well-known Ojude Oba businessman, has shared insights into his struggle with incurable cancer and how his limited time motivates his vibrant lifestyle.

Farooq garnered attention for his distinctive style and presence at the annual Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu Ode, making headlines just days ago.

In an interview with Arise News, the head of NG Clearing Limited discussed the deep family values that connect him to the festival, highlighting his participation spanning over 15 years.

Farooq revealed that he was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2014 and underwent a bone marrow transplant the same year. He spoke about his contributions to cancer charities and his efforts in counseling others facing various cancer diagnoses.

“People ask me why I as so happy despite having an incurable bone cancer. I tell them, ‘I am alive and as long as you’re in the game, you can win the game. Everyday is a blessing,” he said partly.

The cancer survivor highlighted how friends deserted him after his diagnosis; leaving him with fewer than 100 from having millions.

“My friends reduced from five million to one million when I left the Nigerian exchange and from one million to a hundred when I was diagnosed with cancer,” he added.
