Buhari Stands With VP Shettima In Time Of Sorrow

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with Vice President Kashim Shettima on the death of his mother-in-law, Maryam Abubakar Albishir who died on Sunday in Kano after a protracted illness.

A statement issued by the former president’s spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu said that Buhari personally conveyed his condolences when he met with Shettima in Katsina on Monday.

According to the statement made available to GWG.ng “Buhari seized the moment of their meeting on Monday in Katsina to express his deepest sympathies.

“Muhammadu Buhari said the death of Hajiya Maryam, the mother of the Vice President’s wife, Hajiya Nana was extremely sad, adding that his thoughts and prayers were with the Vice President and his family at this challenging time.”

According to the statement, the former president was further quoted as praying to Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest.

GWG.ng reports that the condolence from President Buhari adds to the flow of condolences that have flowed towards Vice-President Shettima and his family on the death of his mother-in-law.

The deceased who is the mother of Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of VIce President Shettima was buried in Kano according to Islamic rites on Monday afternoon.
