Rufai Borrowing

Arise TV anchor Oseni Rufai, has come under fire after criticizing President Bola Tinubu over his alleged recurrent borrowing habit.

In a series of posts on his X handle on Monday morning, he questioned the debt accumulating tendencies of first President Muhammadu Buhari and then of his successor, Tinubu.

He tweeted thus:

“Most of the increase in borrowing was through the NTBs auctions conducted by the CBN, which also constituted 66 per cent of FG’s domestic borrowing during the period.”

Supporters of the leading political party took to their X handles to lash the journalist. See some reactions gathered by GWG.ng:

Can u analyze how much Tinubu government borrowed from the money? Can u pls calculate the #800 of dollars when Buhari was going and #1300 now and deduct from the debt rise?”
