Media personality Otunba has sparked controversy by criticizing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, for his behavior at Davido’s wedding.

The monarch was among the high-profile guests at the traditional wedding, which took place at Eko Hotel, Lagos. A viral clip showed him exchanging pleasantries with guests, which Otunba deemed unbecoming of a king.

Otunba expressed his disapproval, stating that the Ooni failed to display royal demeanor and instead acted like an ordinary individual. He lamented the absence of the late Ooni’s regal presence, saying, “I miss the Late Ooni.”

He further questioned whether it’s possible to recall a king, implying that the current Ooni’s behavior was a “shame” to the throne.

In a follow-up tweet, Otunba clarified his stance, emphasizing that he wasn’t opposed to the Ooni attending the wedding but rather his unkingly behavior. He explained, “I said he was seen exchanging pleasantries like ‘Guy man’… The king was meant to be seated, and all guests paying homage to the Great Orisa!”

This criticism comes months after a similar incident where the Ooni was publicly snubbed by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at an event, leaving many embarrassed for the monarch.
