BREAKING: Tragedy As Suicide Bomber Targets Nigerian Wedding

A devastating attack occurred at a wedding ceremony in Gwoza, Borno State, on Saturday, June 29, when a female suicide bomber, carrying a baby on her back, detonated a bomb at the wedding venue.

According to eyewitnesses, the wedding was taking place at Tashan Mararaba, near the Fire Service station in Gwoza town, when the bomber struck. The exact number of fatalities is yet to be confirmed, but several injured individuals are receiving medical attention at the General Hospital in Gwoza.

This senseless act of violence has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving families and loved ones in mourning.

Confirming the attack, the commissioner of police in the state, Yusuf Lawal said that he was informed by the Divisional Police Officer in Gwoza, that at least six people were killed with 15 others evacuated to the hospital.

An eye witness who identify himself as Buba, told NAN that the suicide bomber targeted a wedding ceremony.

Buba said that the attack shattered the joy and celebration of the special day, leaving families and loved ones in mourning.

Muhammed Kasim, another witness said that the attack happened around 1:30 p.m.

“We heard a very loud sound of explosive, accompanied with dust; then we saw bodies on the ground.

He said that several victims of the suicide bomb at the wedding were evacuated to the hospital while security agencies were deployed to sanitise the area. (NAN)
