Confusion As Blogger Apologizes to Actress Sharon Ooja Over Controversial Claims, Then Deletes Apology Post

Nigerian blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus has issued a public apology to actress Sharon Ooja, retracting her previous claims about Sharon’s husband, Ugo Nwoke. Stella had earlier revealed that Ugo was a billionaire from Imo State and Sharon was his fourth wife, sparking controversy and backlash.

In a heartfelt apology, Stella admitted that she was wrong to “number” Sharon Ooja and acknowledged that her headlines were inappropriate and poorly timed. She took full responsibility for her actions, expressing remorse for causing hurt and harm to Sharon.

“Dear Sharon Ooja, I deeply apologize for the story on your being the 4th wife….I should not have numbered you… I do agree that it was a bad headline and it was the wrong timing.. I deeply apologize for hurting you, it was not my intention and I take responsibility for my actions… I am doing this apology because I am truly sorry,” Stella wrote in her apology to Sharon Ooja.

However, Stella has since deleted the apology post from her social media page, leaving the original controversial claims intact. The initial post, which sparked outrage and criticism, remains visible, with many questioning Stella’s sincerity and commitment to accountability.

Sharon’s friend, Bisola Aiyeola, had earlier slammed the blog for spreading lies and urged them to “pack more lies” as they wouldn’t dampen Sharon’s peace. Sharon Ooja, who recently got married, had been the subject of speculation and rumors, which Stella’s initial claims had fueled.

Despite the apology and deletion, the controversy lingers, with many calling for responsible journalism and ethical reporting. Sharon’s marriage to Ugo Nwoke has been a subject of celebration, with friends and colleagues attending her bridal shower and traditional wedding in Abuja. The actress has shared photos and videos of her special moments, introducing her husband as the “King of my heart.”
