Police Spokesman Laments As 3-Year-Old Falls Into Open Cesspit, Dies

A devastating incident occurred in Igando on Saturday leaving a community in mourning after a 3-year-old child fell into an open cesspit and tragically lost his life.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, took to social media to express his outrage and sadness over the avoidable tragedy.

Hundeyin shared a post on X, condemning the negligence that led to the child’s death. “Somewhere in Igando today, this cesspit was left open. Unfortunately, a 3-year-old fell into it and died. This was totally avoidable!” he wrote.

The police have likely launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and those responsible for the open cesspit must be held accountable.
