Popular Nigerian Pastor, Jerry Eze, loved by many young people, including celebrities, has expressed grief about the damage caused by parents who handle their children with laissez-faire attitudes.

Pastor Jerry who made this cry in a sermon, which is trending across social media, called on parents to become responsible.

He began, “The Bible says that the woman we read in Revelation 12 was clothed with the sun and the moon was under her feet. The Bible says about the son she gave birth to, that he was to rule his generation with a rod of iron. What manner of huge destiny was that? A child with a great destiny was birthed by a woman who was clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet. Let me twist it and turn it upside down, so a woman without glory will birth a child without a great destiny.

“Parents with no glory, parents with no encounters, parents who have not known the depths of God will never birth children with great destinies.

“Let me say this to you, trace greatness in children; most times if it does not have anything to do with their immediate parents, it has something to do with their grandparent or great grandparent at some point in their journey. There was someone who raised an altar to God for their generations and the altar continues to speak even long after they are gone.

Pastor Jerry further noted that it is not only generational curses that speak, “generational blessings are also speaking.”

He explained,  “Any attack against my relationship with God is an attempt to commonize the destinies of my children. When the devil begins to attack your prayer life, when the devil begins to attack your consecration, I want you to know it’s not about you.

“Generations are tied to you. There are spiritual and supernatural possibilities. God has routed through you to your children. When you are not living right, you block it from flowing.

Drawing from his own experience, he said, “I am who I am because I had a woman who prayed for me, who stood up for me. I had a woman whom when I was sleeping, she would lay her hands, she would pray for me. Though she was not educated, when I told her I have a job with the UN, she said, ‘that is not God’s will for you’.

Addressing parents further, he said, “I don’t care whether they go to America or not. I don’t care whether they go to the UK or not. What is important is that heaven is proud of these children.”

Pastor Jerry again lamented, “I’m tired of having a child raised in church but end up singing in the club because there are parents who were not watchful.”
