Yoruba Actor and Kokozaria assault

Veteran Yoruba actor Ibrahim Bello Sanya, also known as Baba Lawori, has appealed for assistance after reportedly being assaulted by Koko Zaria, the boss of the Lagos State National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW.

The actor shared his plea in a widely circulated video posted all over the internet on Monday.

Describing the incident, Baba Lawori stated that the altercation occurred during the 2024 Idimu Day event on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

“Please save me from Koko Zaria, I do not know my offence to him.

“While doing my work as an MC, a man came on the stage to tell me that Koko Zaria is calling me. As I went to meet him, he asked why I didn’t recognize his presence. I apologized and said I didn’t know that he was at the event, and I promised to do the needful when I returned to the stage.

“As I turned back to the stage, a man who came with Koko Zaria took a bottle of Martell (in front of Koko Zaria and his guys) and broke it on my head.

“I was wet with my own blood as I lost consciousness due to the attack.”

See some reactions below to the Baba Lawori claim:

Erimako Kunle: I want to ask oooh, is it that we don’t have NURTW in the North or East? We never hear any form of hooliganism from members of the group in these places. I have lived in Northern Nigeria for a very long time, I only see NURTW members in parks doing their job and their vehicles doing patrol. I don’t even know the name of any of their bosses or see them forming jagaban in parties or occassions.

Stone Atigo: Baba lawori sorry for the pain and inconvenience? Nigeria police will worsen the situation if you report to them because those werey are highly connected. I believe some forgiveness are sin. There is a way you can retaliate without any traces.

I know GOD will fight for you. But that can take a long time. Vawuless for vawuless.

Ranti Adeyanju: Please go and report to police, no one is above the law.

Nuruzils Waliyu Samuels: Channel your complain to the force headquarters,
You can get lawyers who defend the less privileged people and present your case.
IG & PRO of police Twitter handles are available for you to make up your case.

There are still functional law enforcement institutions in Nigeria.
Make use of them.
Facebook is not enough.

Abioye Akingbemila: What is all this in this Nigeria our country well no nothing last for ever God will fight for you

Tim Ayoajayi: Imagine that’s what VDM always saying that becomes they’re enemy. Intimidation

Mikhail Olanrewaju Ibrahim: He will soon jamb his own wahala and agbako, God grace. Awori’s should come together help LAWORI to report to police.
