Mr Timothy Anthony, Head of Operations Access Bank, Yola, says over 300,000 residents of Wuro-Jabe, Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa will benefit from solar-powered borehole water, newly constructed by the bank.

Anthony said this at the inauguration of the borehole on Tuesday at Kasuwan Katako, Wuro-Jabe LGA of Yola South.

He said that the intervention was the bank’s way of tackling water scarcity and ensuring a healthy society.

“The motivation for the borehole project is one of Access Bank’s ways of ensuring a healthy society. Access Bank is building a healthier tomorrow, one community at a time.

“The project would be replicated all over Nigeria, we are bringing clean water to those in need, to improve health and quality of life,” Anthony said.

Alhaji Babangida Baba-Hajo, the Community Chief of Wuro-Jabe  appreciated the organisation for the project, adding that the intervention had put an end to water scarcity in the community.

“I thank God that Access Bank brought clean water to our community. The bank  has brought life and health to us, and we are grateful for the intervention.

“We will ensure it is well maintained and utilised by our people,” Baba-Hajo said.

Also speaking, a resident of the community, Mrs Rhoda Idi-Maina, said that the bank had done the community a great favour that would impact lives and health positively for a longtime.

“From now on, members of my family and I will be banking with  Access. I will encourage other people to shift their accounts to the bank, because it has  done us well ,” she  said. (NAN)
