Akpabio Tells Wike To Ignore Senator Ireti Kingibe
Akpabio Throws FCT Senator Under The Bus At Abuja Terminal
Senator Godswill Akpabio literally threw his fellow senator representing the FCT, Senator Ireti Kingibe under the bus at the flag-off of the construction of a new bus terminal in Abuja on Tuesday afternoon as he urged the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike to ignore her.
Akpabio told Wike to avoid her distraction as he, Wike has the support of the majority of senators.
GWG.ng reports that Akpabio spoke at the flag off of the Kugbo Bus and Taxi terminal which he said will bring Abuja to the level of other developed capitals in the world.
He spoke against the background of the face-off between Senator Kingibe and Wike over the focus of projects in the FCT.
Senator Kingibe who represents the FCT had in a television interview on Monday criticized the focus of Wike in constructing and resurfacing roads inside highbrow areas of the FCT. She followed up by saying that the majority of the people of the FCT live outside the main city and are in the sub-urban areas and their felt needs include water and other developmental projects.
Wike had following the interview at a function in Abuja ridiculed the senator telling her to go hang herself on a transformer, vowing that she would not be returned as the FCT senator in 2027 so long as he remains minister.
In replying to the development, Senator Akpabio who flagged off the commissioning of the Kugbo bus terminal literally thrown Senator Kingibe under the bus.
While commending Wike as a square peg in a square hole Akpabio also thanked President Tinubu for having the eyes to bring him to the FCT.
According to him after reconstructing the roads of the capital city, Wike has now come towards the masses with the idea of the bus terminal and then went for Kingibe.
“I saw one of the legislators on television talking about you and mentioning the fact that she was not carried along. Well, she is a member of the Senate and once a decision is taken she is bound by the decision.
“So, ignore every distraction and be rest assured that no matter what you do not everybody will praise you. No matter what you do not everybody will praise you, others will still try to find fault.”
