Buhari Mourns Death Of Sheriff’s Mother, Dispatches Delegation
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has paid tribute to Hajiya Aisa, mother of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, former Governor of Borno State, highlighting her deep influence in shaping the character and the success of her children.
GWG.ng reports that Hajiya Aisa died in Abuja at the age of 93 and has since been buried in Maiduguri.
President Buhari in a statement issued by his media adviser, Mallam Garba Shehu said that she led a glorious life.
“There is no greater loss than losing one’s mother. My condolenes to Senator Ali Sherif and the larger Sherif family on the passing away of their mother. May Allah accept her good deeds.”
The former President according to the statement has dispatched a team led by two of his former ministers, Mustapha Baba Shehuri and Engineer Abubakar Aliyu, and a former presidential aide, Mallam Garba Shehu to represent him at the third day prayers on Wednesday.
Besides Sheriff, President Muhammadu Buhari also extended his deep condolences to the Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi and the entire people of the state on the loss of this prominent citizen.
