The Nigeria Police have announced an investigation into the assault on veteran Yoruba actor Lawori by Koko Zaria, a prominent figure in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

This development was confirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a post on his official X handle on Monday.

Reports indicate that Koko Zaria allegedly ordered an attack on Lawori.

The incident gained public attention when an X user, @Oyindamola, shared a viral video by Lawori and tagged the Police PPRO, urging them to take action.

In response, Adejobi reassured the public that justice will be served. He stated, “This will be investigated, and justice will be served. Many people have called me on this case.”

Following the police statement on X promising to look into the matter, many commenters expressed skepticism about whether any real action will be taken, citing Koko Zaria’s perceived influence. Here are some reactions compiled by GWG.ng:

@femkee02: Sir, I don’t think your ppl will do any justice to this matter as majority of them are loyal to this men except oga at the top gave a marching order. Pls I will appreciate if you can prove me wrong by doing justice.

@Kevintwolives: I’ll bet my life that you can’t even invite Koko Zaria to the station not to talk of justice, lmao ,tell us another lies

@WolfieLumiere: Please do something about this, this is sad to watch. Restore our confidence in the rule of law, where the sons and daughters of nobody can have voices too @jidesanwoolu Please don’t let this slide

You have the executive power in Lagos state

@kaygee476: I pray 🙏 the right thing is done.   Nigeria is totally a country I can’t come back again.

@achieverwealth: I can’t guarantee you guys expecting something from the police that nothing will come out from this. You can use mobad case as case study. Nigerians doesn’t learn from history.

@Sunday15325644: Sir the day police station dey collect cars donated by MC OLUOMO agbero sir u are dat justice will be served

@Olawale252992: Dey play… People buying vehicle for police in Lagos. Forget about his case, no justice will be served.

@OgwucheAugusti9: How can they arrest him when is a friend to MC oluomo 😂 make prince they play 😂

@oluwatitofolabi: Nigeria police won’t do anything to Koko Zaria. It’s like MC Oluomo committing a crime and expecting Nigerian police to arrest him.

The highest they will do is invite him to their office and settle the matter with the victim😂.

Those guys are above the law.

@ayrotyno:It will always end in “This will be investigated”. Andrew Ochekwo death at the watch of police is almost forgotten.
