Acclaimed Nigerian actor and filmmaker Patrick Doyle has made a bold assertion that the entertainment industry is under satanic influence following the shocking award of Best Gospel Artiste to Tems at the BET Awards.

Patrick Doyle expressed his views response to singer Tems’ recent accolade at the BET Awards and his assertion was against the background that the awardee is well known for her secular path in the music industry.

Recall that Tems, who is known for her secular music, was awarded the best gospel artiste at the 2024 BET Awards, which took place on Monday at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, United States.

This unexpected win by Tems left many mainstream gospel musicians feeling shocked and betrayed.

In a Facebook post addressing the controversy, Doyle advised gospel singers to stop seeking approval from what he referred to as the “entertainment industry mafia.”

He wrote, “I feel the pain of mainstream gospel artistes who feel slighted that an evidently secular musician, Tems was awarded for best gospel song.

“That said, I believe it is about time that committed Christians should stop seeking validation from fickle institutions like the entertainment industry mafia which by the way is in the grip of Satan.”
