Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has awarded a N200,000 bonus to each member of the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC deployed to the state.

The heartwarming gesture of the Niger State governor was made known when he visited the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp on Tuesday to address the corps members during their swearing-in ceremony.

A video circulating on social media captured the governor making the surprising bonus to the corps members.

GWG.ng reports that the bonus is the highest ever given to corps members in the country.

Governor Bago pledged that the bonus would be credited to their accounts. Additionally, he announced plans to build a new standard NYSC camp worth 5 billion naira, demonstrating his commitment to supporting the development of young Nigerians.
