Mother Escapes As Son Hacks Father To Death In Delta

A 28-year-old man, Ufuoma Umurie, brutally killed his father, Rev. Isaac Umurie, a serving priest at St. John’s Anglican Church in Okpare-Olomu Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The tragic incident, which occurred around 2 am on Wednesday, saw the suspect also threatening his mother with the same cutlass used in the murder.

According to reports from DAILY POST, the victim’s skull and other body parts were mutilated, sparking serious tension within the community.

Details regarding the motive behind the son’s violent actions were still unclear at the time of reporting.

Following the incident, authorities promptly arrested the suspect and handed him over to the Police, Otu-Jeremi Division.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident during a telephone conversation emphasizing that the suspect will face prosecution in accordance with Nigerian laws.
