Ben Bruce Hails As He Sights Gov Eno’s Ravine Reclamation For Recreation Project

Nigeria’s entertainment and tourism industry bigwig, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has applauded Governor Umo Eno for initiating the idea of turning the age-long dreaded ravine in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital into a multi-facetted tourists attraction.

The sentiment was expressed, Wednesday, as the Governor took him and other personalities who were in the state on a tour of the construction site shortly after a meeting in his office.

Expressing amazement at the vision, Nigeria’s entertainment industry doyen and Founder of Silverbird Group, described the vision of turning the Uyo ravine into a recreation arena as incredible, noting that the project will possess some of the greatest facilities one could find for tourists anywhere in the world.

The former Bayelsa – East  Senator remarked that with the availability of houses, 9-hole golf course which the park will offer coupled with the already existing nearby 18-hole golf course, Akwa Ibom State will soon be home for world’s 1% most wealthy population, as he described golf as game for the upper class.

In his words, “It has a nine-hole golf course. It’s got a lake. It’s got all the greatest facilities you can find. It’s an incredible site.

“Golfers are the richest people on earth. It’s a game for very wealthy people. Selling houses here to very wealthy golfers will bring the top one percent of the world’s population to Akwa Ibom. When they stay here, they can play golf here and at the other 18-hole golf course. The quality of work is first class. You look at the contour. The Governor took a bad situation and  is turning it into a great one. It’s beautiful. I think it’s one of the incredible projects you can have.” an elated Sen Murray-Bruce stated.

Giving an insight into the project, Governor Umo Eno described the concept as a world class facility that will create thousands of jobs for Akwa Ibom people through entertainment and tourism, expressing willingness to welcome inputs from tourism  practitioners to convert the vision to reality.

The Governor expressed delight over the pace and quality of work, describing his regular visits to the site as satisfying and inspiring, while justifying the need to pull the top echelon of the entertainment industry close to aid the actualization of the vision.

“This is improving everyday. That’s why we bring experts here, to add to the vision we have. Vision is progressive. When you have a vision you need people that can key into that vision. That’s why we brought Distinguished Senator Ben Murray-Bruce who is a guru in entertainment here. We brought our brother Tony and AIM Consulting, as designers so that they can also bring their own perspectives.

“This is a world class facility and everyday I come here, I get very inspired, that we can take a bad situation and turn it into the very best and commercialize it. I believe that’s the way to go. I believe this place will create thousands of jobs for our people. This place will create entertainment. This place will create tourism,” the Governor stated of the former Uyo ravine now being turned into a recreational arena
