A Nigerian couple has stirred controversy after a video of their wedding surfaced online, showcasing necklaces made from Nigerian naira notes.
The clip, which has gone viral on TikTok, saw the husband adorned with a necklace crafted from glued-together ₦1,000 notes, while his wife sported a similar necklace made from ₦500 notes.
As the video circulated, viewers expressed concern about the apparent misuse of currency, tagging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the agency tasked with combating financial crimes.

Some viewers interpreted the display as indicative of a person who has experienced poverty, while others humorously warned that EFCC officials might be on their way to investigate the couple. Many expressed disbelief at the couple’s decision, labeling the act as madness.
