How To Make Mouth Watering, Tasty Pepper ‘Kpomo’ (video)

Cow skin, popularly called kpomo is one of the delicacies enjoyed by Nigerians but how to make the tasty delicacy is something not very common.

It is very popular and even though it was regarded as a frugal alternative to meat, pomo is eaten across different societal class levels. 

kpomo in itself is really tough to eat and requires an arduous process of cooking to soften/tenderize it for human consumption.

The main aims of processing cow skin to pomo, are to remove the hair from the skin and tenderize it, and there are two methods for doing this: boiling and burning/roasting. After skinning the cow, the skin is cut up into manageable sizes and either boiled or burned/roasted.

Here is a special way to make kpomo to taste:

Ingredients:

Softened pkomo

Salt and seasoning

Ginger and garlic

Onions

All purpose seasoning

Seasoning cubes

Paprika

Boiled water

Groundnut oil

Blended Pepper mix

Process one

Step one

Assemble your already softened pkomo in a pot

Step two

Add your onions, all the seasonings and salt

Step three

Add water and boil

Process two

Step one

Add oil to a frying pan

Step two

Add your onions

Step Three

Add your pepper mix

Step four

Add all your seasonings

Step five

And your pkomo stock

Step six

Finally add your pkomo

After some minutes….  YOUR pkomo is ready….
